RE:CXNNECTED Modular Cables
Designed to facilitate convenient gear changes, without having to repeatedly disconnect connectors from either your headphones or source equipment. Each RE:CXNNECTED cable is formed of two essential parts: the “Y-Split” and “Core-Cable”. The Y-Split connects to your headphones. The Core Cable connects to your amplifier/DAP. These are both securely and satisfyingly re:cxnnected to each other via a balanced push-pull connector.
Connector Types
Single 3-Pin Mini XLR
For AKG & Beyerdynamic K7XX, DT1990, DT1770 headphone cables. It is not possible to make these cables balanced without modifying your headphones first. Clicks into place and releases via a latch button. Currently, only Switchcraft Mini XLR connectors are used for these cables. Gold-plated copper contacts in a nickel-plated copper alloy housing. Rated for >5000 insertions.
Dual 4-Pin Mini XLR
Most commonly used by Audeze, also suitable for Meze Empyrean and ZMF headphone cables. Clicks into place and releases via latch button. Available from three different manufacturers:
Rean — The industry standard. The ones your Audeze headphones likely came with. Gold-plated bronze contacts in an aluminium and zinc housing. Rubber boot helps with strain relief and ensures these connectors last. Rated for >1000 insertions.
Switchcraft — The Mini XLR connector was first introduced by Switchcraft. Gold-plated copper contacts in a nickel-plated copper alloy housing. Latch operation is smoother compared to Rean. Rated for >5000 insertions.
Furutech — Very similar to the Switchcraft, except featuring rhodium-plated contacts.
Dual 3.5mm TRS
Used by all recent HiFiMAN and Focal headphones. Other manufacturers may use different wiring schemes, please get in touch if you’re not sure. We’ve all used one of these. The most common type of audio plug. Will fit into the recessed sockets on HiFiMAN and Focal headphones:
Amphenol — Gold-plated brass contacts in a diecast zinc alloy housing with a chrome finish. Rated for >1000 insertions.
Rean — Gold-plated contacts in a nickel-plated brass housing. Rated for >1000 insertions.
Viablue — 24k Gold-plated contacts, matt black aluminium housing.
Sennheiser HD6XX, HD600, HD650, HD660S and HD58X
Used only by Sennheiser HD6XX, HD600, HD650, HD660S, and HD58X. CXNNECTED cables use gold-plated copper contacts in a matte black aluminium housing. The right channel is marked by a red connector.
Dan Clark (Formerly Mr. Speakers)
Used only by Dan Clark / Mr Speakers headphones. Features a secure push-pull locking mechanism for ease of use. Gold-plated copper alloy contacts in a zinc alloy housing with a polished and matte finish. Rated for 1000 insertions.
Splitter Options
Cxnnected Splitter
Meticulously machined by Cxnnected. from sand-blasted, black anodized aluminum. Laser-etched left and right markings so you never mix up your channels. Secured by two bolts, the cable stays perfectly centered. Slim, compact dimenstions: 19 x 12 x 12mm.
Viablue Splitter
Sand blasted and black anodized aluminium. No left or right markings. Secured by a single bolt. Larger, more substantial design, 30 x 15 x 15mm.
